DET RETTE BILLEDE?



Da jeg ikke har fået skrevet direkte til bloggen, lægger jeg noget nylig tekst op; Københavns historie på 200 ord, til et omdelt turistkort for unge.

Bishop Absalon fortified the village Havn in 1167, to secure the Øresund crossing. København (Merchant’s Harbor) grew to be the domi- nant Danish town and a royal possession in 1417. From 1600, king Christian 4 erected many famous buildings. but his dream of a capital of Northern Europe foundered, when Sweden took Skåne, and almost conquered the city in 1657. Copenhagen became permanent capital, with palaces, administration and rich trade in the 1700’s. Danish misfortune in the Napoleonic Wars was highlighted with the British fire bombardement of Copenhagen in 1807. In the mid 19 century the city outgrew its moats, which are now parks from Tivoli to the Citadel. Industry and workers housing grew up around the city, but genteel Frederiksberg kept its status as an independent township. 20 century development has been generally peaceful within the framework of the welfare
state. Town areas from since 1920 have high housing standards, and copenhageners have succesfully resisted plans reshape the Old City for rampant car traffic. City and old workers Neighborhoods have been nicely renovated, but have also gotten pricey. Since the 1970, conflicts between authorities and alternative living styles have flared up around the Christiania Free City, and in Nørrebro.
